A worked example
From 1 March 2028 to 1 April 2028 there are 31 days: four complete weeks and three additional days.
How it is calculated
The calculation compares the start of each civil date. The end date is not counted as an extra day. Reversing the dates produces a negative interval.
Common mistakes and limitations
Equivalent hours assume 24 hours per day. They do not measure actual elapsed hours across daylight-saving changes.
